A Little Layering Anyone?????

I’ve been trying to incorporate more layers into my cards and scrapbook pages. An extra layer can add so much depth to your project. This is one of my first really “LAYERED” cards. Of course, I use layers on everything, but this is a little more extreme than I usually do. The pic and instructions are below.

Spring Dream Layers

Here’s What you Need:

  • TAC Spring Dream Stamp set (hostess level C)
  • TAC Matchmakers Cardstock (Green 1, Black)
  • TAC Premium White Cardstock
  • TAC Uptown Girl (Wing it Collection)
  • Offray Black Polka Dot Ribbon
  • 3 Square Brads
  • Prismacolor Pencils and OMS
  • Palette Noir Hybrid Ink
  • SU! True Thyme Classic Ink

Here’s What To Do:

  1. Cut your Cardstock base from Green 1. (8.5″ x 5.5″) and fold in half.
  2. Cut your designer paper base layer to 5 1/4″ x 4″. Distress the edges with True Thyme Classic Ink.
  3. Punch bottom left corner with 2 hole punch. Put ribbon through holes and tie bow. (I will create a tutorial for the faux bow seen here). Adhere a piece of ribbon to the upper right corner as shown. Adhere this layer to the Card base.
  4. Cut a piece of black cardstock to 4″ x 2.5″. Cut a piece of the Pink Plaid paper to 3 3/4″x 2 1/4″. Distress the edges with True Thyme and adhere this to the black CS. Adhere the whole piece approx. 1″ from the bottom.
  5. Cut another piece of black CS to 4″ x 3″. Cut a piece of black paisley paper 3 3/4″ x 2 3/4″. Adhere this to the black CS. Pierce 3 holes evenly apart in the top left corner and attach the 3 brads (see photo). Adhere this whole layer to the card 1/4″ from the top and 3/8″ in from the left .
  6. Cut another black CS 3 3/4″ x 1 3/4″. Cut a piece of the multi-patterend stripe to 3 1/2″ x 1 1/2″and distress with True Thyme ink. Adhere this to the black CS and adhere the whole layer to the card 1/4″ from the bottom and 1/2″ in from the left.
  7. Cut a piece of White CS to 1 3/8″ x 3 3/8″. Stamp the image in Palette Noir and color with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. Distress with True Thyme and adhere this to a piece of Green 1 CS cut to 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. Adhere to the middle of the card and you’re done!!!

Yes, there is a lot of cutting, measuring, and adhering. I do have to say that the results are well worth the extra time. If you have any question as to where a layer gets adhered, simply see the photo or post the question for me. I am happy to help! Enjoy!
