It’s just one of those cards…

I’ve been trying to get out of my happy stamping world and use some colors and stamps that aren’t my usual style. I created this card one evening with a certain look in my head, but , of course, that’s not what came out on the paper. I like the coloring and the stamps are adorable, but the layout and color scheme threw me. It’s kind of a faux criss cross/ pocket card. I sat there for hours staring at what I was creating and thinking, “Nope, not what I thought it was going to be.” My DD came into my studio and said, “Mommy, that’s pretty.” She’s 4 and my biggest stamping fan. I figured that if she likes it, it must be ok. So, here it is.

I used TAC’s retired “Wild Animals” stamp set. It was the first time I used it and it really is cute! The CS is from MatchMakers and the DP is from Provo. All of the coloring was done with Prismacolor Markers. I think they are quickly becoming my favorite new coloring medium, next to my Prismacolor Pencils and mineral spirits. I find the markers are GREAT for fun, childlike cards and the pencils for a more “grown up” look. Either way, Prismacolor rocks my stamping world. Thanks for stopping by!

Wow!! Love this vibrant and cheerful card!!!!! Wild Animals is my favourite set from TAC, and this has got to be one of my favourite cards I’ve seen using it! And you’ve inspired me to try cutting out the ‘Wild animals’ text from the large leaf; I think it’s more versatile that way. TFS!!!!!
